Drone manufacturer DJI has announced the Osmo Pocket, a stabilized action camera. The Osmo Pocket has a 1/2.3″ sensor and can continue to track objects, among other things. DJI also has accessories, such as a ‘selfie stick’ for the new camera.

The Osmo Pocket has a 12-megapixel camera with a sensor size of 1/2.3 “and an angle of view of 80 degrees, according to the specs. The device measures 12.2 × 3.7 × 2.9 cm, smaller than the average smartphone that is usually about 15×7.5×0.8cm in size and weighs 116 grams.

It can take pictures in jpeg and dng, while videos are possible in mov and mp4. The maximum resolution of video is 4k, while the frame rate can be up to 60fps at that resolution. Also at 1080p 60fps is the maximum frame rate.

The camera has a built-in gimbal, something DJI has been making for much longer with its Osmo Mobile products. As a result, the image must remain stable. Accessories include a stick for shooting footage where an arm’s length isn’t enough, and an underwater case for filming and photographing up to 60 meters below the water’s surface.

There is also a module that adds bluetooth and wifi to the device, for synchronization with smartphones. It costs 59 euros extra. DJI will release the Osmo Pocket in the Benelux in the middle of next month for 359 euros.
