Diablo III Contains ‘God Mode’ Bug
Players of rpg Diablo III have found a method to play in ‘God mode’, which means that their character is invulnerable. The method only works with the Wizard class. Blizzard has not yet responded.
Create players on the official Diablo III forum notification of a bug in the rpg that makes the Wizard class invincible. A Wizard character will no longer take damage from the blows he or she takes. To activate the bug, the player must use two Wizard skills; the Teleport skill upgraded with the Fracture Rune and the Archon skill featuring the Improved Archon Rune. There are several videos on YouTube of players showing how the bug works.
Players expect the developer to release a patch that fixes the bug soon, but Blizzard has not yet responded to the report. It is therefore not clear whether and when the bug will be fixed. Players are particularly concerned because the bug will greatly benefit players who list virtual items for sale in the game’s real money auction house, where players can sell such items for real money. Those who take advantage of the bug can easily get items for sale.
Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime revealed a week ago that he saw that Diablo III wasn’t perfect. He promised the necessary improvements, including to the digital auction house. The real money auction house is controversial. For example, the South Korean government demanded that Blizzard remove the real money auction house from the Asian version of the game, because it would violate the country’s strict gambling laws.
Update, July 24, 08:27: Blizzard has meanwhile let go through a blue post on the forum know that it is aware of the bug. The studio thinks it can come up with a patch soon.
