Details Skylake-U processors appear on slides surfaced online

According to slides published online, Intel would significantly reduce the number of processors for laptops with the arrival of the Skylake-U line. Where there are still four Core i7 models of the Broadwell-U processors, there will only be one of the new generation.

That one will appear in two variants, one with Intel’s technology vPro on board and one without. This is apparent from the slides that Fanless Tech has put online. At Broadwell, there are four more models with different clock speeds. The Skylake-U lineup includes a base model for Core i7, i5, i3 and Pentium, while there are two Celeron models with different clock speeds.

Clocks are going up across the board, according to the slides, with a turbo when using both cores up to 3.2GHz on the Core i7 version. Although Intel has presented its Skylake platform, it has not yet announced all processors. The Skylake-U processors will probably end up in laptops and tablets and therefore count as the manufacturer’s ‘mobile’ processors. An announcement will follow according to previous rumors in September or October.
