Dead Island 2 will be released on February 3, 2023. This release date was announced by publisher Deep Silver during the opening night of the gamescom trade show. This release date was already assumed after an earlier product page with this information came online recently.

At the end of the cinematic trailer Dead Island 2’s release date can be seen. Deep Silver also has a gameplay footage trailer released in which, among other things, the characteristic, heavy violence against zombies can be seen. Dead Island 2 is out for the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles, Google Stadia, and for PC via the Epic Games Store.

Dead Island 2 is an FPS action game with RPG elements and can more or less be regarded as an ode to old cult horror films. The action is set in Los Angeles. There has been a virus outbreak that has turned residents into all kinds of zombies. The player takes on the role of a character who has already been bitten, but has more or less mastered the zombie tendencies. There will be six different characters to play, each with their own quirks, dialogue options and customizable skills.

The game was originally announced back in 2014 during the then E3 fair. Since then, several changes have occurred on the development side, which has led to some delays. The game is published by Deep Silver and now developed by Dambuster Studios.
