Chinese approval authority presumably shows Xiaomi Redmi phone with notch
The Chinese approval authority TENAA has put specifications and photos online showing a Xiaomi smartphone with a screen notch. It is probably a new model in the Redmi series, possibly the Redmi 6 Plus.
The images show a smartphone with a 5.84-inch screen with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. On the back is a fingerprint scanner and a dual camera of 12 megapixels and 5 megapixels.
The processor is an octacore clocked at 2GHz; GSMArena speculates that it is the Snapdragon 625 or the Helio P60. The smartphone will be available with 2GB, 3GB and 4GB RAM and with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage memory. There is a micro SD card slot to expand the storage memory.
Last week, some details also came online via TENAA about a Xiaomi device with a notch. That was a 5.45″ device. It is suspected that it was then the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and now the Redmi 6 Plus. Xiaomi introduced the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus last December in its home country China and in February in other countries the company is active in. A possible release of the Redmi 6 models would probably be delayed.
