Blood Sport really makes gamers lose blood when they get hit

The makers of Blood Sport have come up with a way to encourage blood donations. They have designed a concept to make players lose real blood when they are hit by bullets in the game.

Blood Sport works in the same way as the vibrations transmitted to a game controller: for example, if a player is hit by bullets in-game, the controller will vibrate. Instead of vibrating, Blood Sport causes blood to be drawn from the player’s arm. In this way, the consequences of games are made more realistic, according to the creators of Blood Sport.

An Arduino board is used for the connection between the game controller and the machine that takes the blood. There is a signal that goes to the machine and a counter that keeps track of how much blood has already been removed from the player’s arm. The maximum amount of blood that can be collected is determined on the basis of age, weight and medical condition.

The idea behind Blood Sport is not just to create a realistic gaming experience. With the concept, the creators want to ensure that blood donations are stimulated. Blood Sport has plans to play Battlefield Hardline with interested parties, but the creators state that the concept can work with any game.

With a Kickstarter campaign, the makers of Blood Sport hope to raise enough money to implement their idea. With sufficient funding, a game campaign will start in March in Toronto, Canada, where gamers can donate their blood.
