Bang & Olufsen announces the Beoplay Portal, a wireless Xbox headset with active noise cancellation, which works at 2.4GHz with consoles and also has bluetooth 5.1. The headset will be released at the end of April for 499 euros.

According to B&O, the headset has a lightweight design of 282 grams and delivers high sound quality, with Dolby Atmos support for virtual surround sound. The Beoplay Portal communicates with Xbox consoles over a 2.4GHz wireless connection. The headset can also be connected to PCs and smartphones via Bluetooth 5.1.

According to the manufacturer, the Beoplay Portal lasts up to 12 hours on a battery charge when used with an Xbox and active noise cancellation. If only bluetooth is used, that is up to 24 hours, also with noise cancellation. Charging the headset takes three hours. B&O provides an app with which the sound can be set as desired.

The ear cups feature capacitive buttons to control the volume. This also allows the balance between the volume of chat and the game to be set. The headset also has a built-in microphone that can be muted by tapping the earcup twice.

The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal is the first Designed for Xbox Limited Series product. That is a new line of products with an Xbox license that should stand for high quality. There will be more products in that series and they will have specific features designed for Xbox, but details are not yet known.
