ASUS introduces OLED gaming monitor with both 240Hz and 480Hz refresh rate

ASUS has announced four new OLED monitors. One of the two new 32” models supports 240Hz at 4k resolution and 480Hz at 1080p playback. ASUS also comes with a 27-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 480Hz, 1440p resolution and support for Dolby Vision.

The 32-inch OLED screen that can switch between two resolutions was given the product name ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP. The device is according to ASUS aimed at gamers who want to play both single-player games in 4k resolution and e-sports titles with a higher refresh rate. In 4k mode, the PG32UCDP achieves a refresh rate of 240Hz, while in 1080p mode it is 480Hz. Users who want to switch modes can do so via the OSD menu, according to the manufacturer. The screen supports G-SYNC and FreeSync Premium, has an HDR 10 certification and has a maximum brightness of 1300cd/m². The response time of the panel is 0.03ms. The monitor will be launched on the market in the second half of 2024. It is not clear how much the screen will cost.

ASUS is also launching another 32” OLED screen: the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM. This panel has 3840×2160 pixels and therefore has a 4k resolution. The OLED screen has a refresh rate of 240Hz and Dolby Vision and HDR 10 certification. The device also contains built-in KVM functionality. The maximum brightness of this panel is 1000cd/m². ASUS already showed this OLED screen during Gamescom in Cologne last summer and will launch the model during the first quarter of 2024. The price is not known yet.

ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM

The manufacturer also introduced a 27” OLED monitor: ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP. This screen has a 1440p resolution and a refresh rate of 480Hz. The PG27AQDP can handle a brightness of 1300cd/m² and supports 99 percent of the DCI P3 color space. It is not clear how this applies to the other monitors. According to the manufacturer, this screen will be available for sale from the second half of 2024. It is not yet clear how much ASUS will charge for it.

Finally, there is the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM. It is a 39-inch ultrawide screen with a resolution of 1440p and a refresh rate of 240Hz. This monitor has a curvature of 800R. This means that the curve corresponds to that of a circle with a radius of 800mm. The aspect ratio of this monitor is 21:9. The response time of the panel is 0.03ms and the screen supports a brightness of up to 1300cd/m². This screen also has built-in KVM functionality and will be available on the market during the first quarter of 2024. It is not clear how much the device will cost.
