Articles about AMD Polaris video cards may appear from June 29
AMD requires editors to write about certain confidential information about the upcoming Polaris graphics cards no earlier than June 29. It may be an embargo date for reviews, but that is not certain.
This is evident from a blog that one of the participants of the Polaris Tech Day keeps. AMD is holding that day on Friday, May 27 in Macau to brief a select group of journalists and others about Polaris, just days before the company announces more to the general public on June 1.
The tech journalists will probably get more information about the GPUs, but will have to sign a contract that they will only publish that information from June 29. VideoCardz noted the nda date on the blogger’s photo.
It is not known exactly what information may be disclosed on that day. Usually it concerns all the details, including game results, but in some cases there is a date on the technical specifications first, followed by a second nda date on which the test results can be released.
AMD will in any case announce more details about Polaris next week during the Computex fair, but this is probably not an official introduction. The company itself speaks of ‘updates’ about Polaris.
