Apple lets users report individual apps as scams through the App Store interface. That was also possible years ago, but the button disappeared from the interface. It has returned in iOS 15.

The button to report an app is under Licenses and Privacy Policy in an app’s listing. Clicking on Report a Problem brings users to a dropdown with several options, including flagging an app as a fraud or a scam, notes developer Kosta Eleftheriou. The developer is a well-known critic of the App Store after accusing Apple of abuse of power following takeover talks over its Flicktype app.

In Epic’s recent lawsuit against Apple, it appears that the App Store has a lot of scams and fraudulent apps, while Apple boasts that the App Store is a safe place thanks to the company’s control. . The ability to report apps should probably increase Apple’s view of scams. Apple has not publicly explained the move. In a short test, the notification was not visible in iOS 14.8 and the second beta of iOS 15.1.
