AMD has released a Radeon RX 7900 GPU with 16GB of memory. As far as we know, this card is not intended for direct sales to European consumers, but it is for OEM system builders. The RX 7900 GRE has fewer compute units than the XT and XTX versions.

Contrary to previous rumors, AMD is bringing the Radeon RX 7900 GRE not only in China, but also worldwide, writes ComputerBase. However, the card can also be purchased separately for consumers in China. In the rest of the world, it will only be available to system builders, who can use the RX 7900 GRE in pre-built PCs, the German medium reports.

The RX 7900 GRE has a Navi 31 GPU, just like the 7900 XT and XTX. The card also has 80 compute units, for a total of 5120 streaming processors. The current RX 7900 XT has 84 CUs. The new video card also has one less memory cache chiplet than the RX 7900 XT. As a result, the RX 7900 GRE has a smaller memory bus of 256 bit and a total of 64MB Infinity Cache.

The boost clock of the RX 7900 GRE is also lower, as is the TDP. ComputerBase reports a suggested retail price of $649. Converted with VAT, this is 714.86 euros. The 7900 XT has an introductory price of $899; the 7900 XTX had a suggested retail price of $999 upon release.
