Amazon is making The Grand Tour Game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Amazon announces an episodic console game centered on The Grand Tour auto show with hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The game is made by Amazon Game Studios.

According to Amazon, The Grand Tour Game is based on the Prime Original series. During the third season of that series about cars, an episode of the game will be released every week, featuring cars and locations from that episode.

The game includes the Eboladrome test track that is used in The Grand Tour. In the announcement, Amazon states that there are seamless transitions from the show’s video clips to gameplay. The three presenters have recorded hours of text for the game. The Grand Tour Game will have a split-screen mode for up to four players.

The game is made by Amazon Game Studios with the Amazon Lumberyard engine, which is based on CryTek’s CryEngine. When The Grand Tour Game will be released and what the game will cost is not yet known. The release is likely to coincide with the start of the third season of the series, but the date has not yet been announced. That will probably be at the end of this year.
