Software update: µTorrent 2.0.1 build 18244 beta

Version 2.0 of µTorrent may have been declared stable, but the development of this BitTorrent client continues unabated. New in version 2.0.1 is an improved uTP performance, with reduced overhead and improved speed, and the program can now handle torrents that consist of a huge number of pieces. Also works now BEP22 as it should be, a way to quickly find local trackers in order to cut down on network traffic. Below is the full changelog for version 2.0.1 build 18244 beta:

New features:

• Add detailed network overhead breakdown graph
• Make initial uTP packet size configurable
• Display overhead at status bar
• Added support for suggest piece messages (part of FAST extensions)

• It’s now possible to graph the tcp_rate_control rates

Changed:

• Make uTP packet size depend on global uTP rate instead of the rate of each individual connection
• Increase allowed max packet size (fixes issue with torrents with more than 131000 pieces)
• Increase the max number of AddTorrent windows from 5 to 20
• Don’t stop torrents when automatically shutdown
• Do not count local overhead if local peers are not limited
• Count overhead for transfer caps
