Lian Li demonstrates power cables with RGB lighting on the Computex. The cables do not emit light themselves, but are equipped with an attachment with LEDs and transparent fiber wires through which the light shines.

At his stand, Lian Li will be displaying both 8- and 24-pin power cables with RGB lighting under the name Strimer RGB. The power cables themselves are white and are bundled with fiber wires through which the RGB light shines. Built into a housing, the power cables may appear to emit light, but in fact they are not. However, the solution that Lian Li has chosen is much simpler than actually plugging RGB lighting into the power cable.

Lian Li says he uses special fiber threads that clearly show the light effect. The manufacturer will sell them as a complete set, in combination with, for example, a 24-pin power cable. Initially, there will be a 20cm cable and, according to a Lian Li employee, it will probably cost between 35 and 50 euros.

The Strimer RGB cables come with an RGB controller that allows you to switch between different lighting effects and speeds, but it is also possible to connect the RGB LEDs to an RGB header from a motherboard or RGB controller from another manufacturer. .

Lian Li is also considering releasing only the part with the RGB LEDs and fiber wires, so that users can provide their own cables with RGB lighting. However, it is difficult to make a universal format, says the manufacturer. The first Stremer RGB products should be released within a few months.
