Google Photos gets auto receipt cropping feature
Google is giving its Photos application a feature to cut out receipts and other documents with a single action and rotate them in the correct direction. The button appears when the software recognizes a document as such.
In the English version of the app, the function is called Crop & adjust. Google demonstrates the feature on twitter and says the functionality will be added to the android application this week. The addition should make it easier to capture clear photos of receipts and documents.
Google Photos already has similar features for automatic enhancements, such as brightening underexposed photos. Functions to make photographing receipts easier have been in other apps for some time, for example in Microsoft Office Lens.
