Software Update: FirePanel XP 1.5.1720

Spread the love

Smokey has posted a new version of FirePanel XP on his website. The program is an add-on for the firewall of Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2003 SP1, which adds a number of functions. This makes it possible, among other things, to create so-called rules, keep statistics and a packet sniffer. In this release, which has been given jersey number 1.5.1720, a new feature is introduced; ip filtering. This makes it possible to completely block traffic from a specific IP address. The changelog shows what has changed since the last entry in the junk tracker:

1.5.1720

  • Massive overhaul of entire codebase (notice the version jump, we’ve been very busy).
  • IP filtering added to prevent any TCP/IP & ICMP pattern you choose.
  • Port filtering for remote or local ports.
  • Code optimized again.

1.0.1713

  • Stopped auto-update, modified to manual update.
  • Program now starts minimized to system tray.
  • Close button removed. Right-click trayicon to Exit.
  • Optimized the panes, displays faster, less cpu load.
