An update for version 2.0 of WhatPulse has been released. WhatPulse is a small program that can keep track of how much you’ve typed, how many times you clicked the mouse, and how far the mouse cursor has traveled. All these statistics are tracked by the WhatPulse client and after this data is ‘pulsed’, it is collected by WP’s central server. This way you can gain insight into how much you typed compared to other users and teams. Apart from statistics, the program does not collect any information and it is certainly not a keylogger. Our own GoT has a corner where fanatic WhatPulsers have been hanging out since 2004. Clients are available for Windows, Linux, and OS X. This release was released to fix several issues that plagued the recently released 2.0 version.

New:

  • Add some critical keys to keyboard heatmap.

Fixed:

  • Unable to set a proxy when logging in.
  • The heatmaps do not update ‘today’ after a manual reset.
  • Windows closes input hooks when putting your CPU under load (games), which makes it stop counting keys and clicks.
  • Random crashes when using a wireless network connection.
  • Random crashes when using sleep or hibernation mode.
  • Auto pulsing is disabled too quickly when detecting pulse errors.
  • The client does not see certain USB network adapters.
  • Computer crashes (BSOD) can cause the client to ask for a login, next start up.
  • Only show active metrics in tooltip (icon hover).
  • Allow a password reset without knowing the old password.
  • Several optimizations for speed and memory management.
