Sonos will release the Era 100 and 300 at the end of March, writes The Verge based on sources who would have knowledge about the two new smart speakers. The products would have a USB-C connection and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6.

The Verge shows also marketing photos of the two wireless speakers. The Era 100 is similar to the Sonos One in size and shape, although the new speaker has a second tweeter for stereo sound and the bass performance is also said to be improved.

The Era 300, on the other hand, is designed for spatial audio and supports Dolby Atmos. The size of this speaker is roughly in between the Sonos One and Five. There are a total of six drivers to direct the sound in all directions. They can also be used as rear channels in combination with, for example, the Sonos Arc and Beam.

In addition to Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6, there is support for Airplay 2. With regard to USB-C, Sonos will sell a line-in adapter to play audio via that route. There does not seem to be a 3.5mm connection.

Sonos would consider releasing the Era 100 for $250, slightly more than the price of the One. The Era 300 is expected to have a price tag of roughly $450, which is lower than the Sonos Five. Both speakers would become available in the course of next month.
