MMD will release the Philips 34E1C5600HE in July, a 34″ monitor with a VA panel with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 100Hz. The screen has a built-in 5Mp webcam, and a USB hub and USB-C socket supplying 65W to a laptop.

The webcam of the Philips 34E1C5600HE can be used for Windows Hello login and video calling. The manufacturer does not state which resolution is used. The 5-megapixel resolution is more than enough for 1080p video, but not enough for 4k images. The display uses a 21:9 curved panel with a curvature of 1500R, a brightness of 300cd/m² and a specified contrast ratio of 3000:1. The gray-to-gray response time is 4ms.

The USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and can be used to display images from, for example, a laptop. The connection can simultaneously supply up to 65W of power. Furthermore, the monitor has HDMI and DisplayPort connections and a USB hub with four USB-A ports. The screen also has built-in 5W speakers.

At the beginning of June, MMD already introduced 16:9 monitors of 24″ and 27″ with similar features. Those screens have 1080p and 1440p resolutions and suggested retail prices of 319 and 439 euros. According to MMD, the new 34″ variant will be available from July for 619 euros. This makes the new 34″ monitor with webcam cheaper than comparable screens from the competition.

In early 2020, MMD also released a curved 34″ Philips monitor with a built-in 5Mp webcam. It has a higher maximum brightness of 500cd/m² and can deliver 90W via USB-C. MMD and competitors also have variants without a built-in webcam in the their range.
