7-Zip is a program that allows you to compress and decompress files, it is developed by the same person as the compression method 7z. The program supports files compressed with the following methods: 7z, zip, cab, rar, arj, gzip, bzip2, tar, cpio, rpm and deb. Version 3.12 has recently been released with the following changelog:

• Now you can select compression method, dictionary size and word size in “Add to archive” dialog box. Also it shows memory usage.
• 7-Zip File Manager now contains toolbars.
• New “Benchmark” command in 7-Zip File Manager. It measures compressing and decompressing speeds and shows rating values.
• Some bugs were fixed.
