ChessBrain is a distributed computing project that attempts to create the fastest and smartest chess playing ‘computer’. The origin of this project is here described with associated choices made over time.

A new version of the client has recently been released, which has been given a version number of 30126-02. This one is fit to take part in the upcoming world record attempt taking place tomorrow in Denmark. This attempt is described as follows:

The ChessBrain project will attempt to establish a new World Record for the largest number of machines used to play a single game against a single human opponent. Our attempt will be made in accordance to the guidelines established by the Guinness World Records Office in London.

Our World Record attempt will take place on Friday January 30th 2004 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event will take place at 5:00 PM in Denmark. And we expect the event to last 4-5 hours.[break]The following four downloads are available:
