Download Driver For VIA AC’97 5.50a

Version 5.50a of VIA’s AC’97 drivers can be found on VIA Arena. These are intended for a motherboard with on-board sound via a VIA-southbridge (VT82C686A, VT82C686B, VT8231, VT8233, VT8233A, VT8233C, VT8235 and VT8237) or a VIA Six-TRAC. A version is available for downloads that contains only the english language, or one in which multiple languages to sit. The changelog shows exactly what has changed in this release:

WDM:

• Changed the Microsoft std. mixer’s topology. Added Master Volume control and moved Front, Surround, Center/LFE volume controls to new created destination line.
• Fixed the bug called “CD volume control on Microsoft std. mixer had some problems”.
• Fixed the bug called “SPDIF function couldn’t work for VIA audio controller, after system resumed from sleeping state”.

Setup:

• Suppressed the dialog of confirmation while the uninstallation is executed by “Add or Remove Programs”.
