Download AC3Filter 1.10b
Alexander Vigovsky posted version 1.10b of the AC3Filter to SourceForge today. Stability has been improved to such an extent that instead of an a for alpha, the version number now carries a b for beta. This DirectShow filter makes it possible to decode and edit sound from movie files in real time. It is mainly intended to play files with surround sound, such as AC3 and DTS. It is also capable of outputting the sound from the digital output (S/PDIF) to process. The release notes that come with this version read as follows:
Notes:
- Work on stability continues. Now filter shows good stability, therefore its status changes to beta and it may be recommended to replace any previous version.
Some additional work was done:
- Some players do not allow to configure filters. Now AC3Filter has tray icon to access filter’s settings.
- Sometimes SPDIF mode cannot be set because of post-processing filters that do not support SPDIF output. Now it’s an additional option to force this problem. Read here for more info. (Thanks to LESAGE Aurelien for testing)
- DivX player now works with SPDIF
known issues:
- AC3 encode mode does not work with some receivers
- Incorrect playback of some 14bit DTS files
changes:
- tray icon
- ‘Disallow PCM in SPDIF mode’ option added
- Divx Player now works with SPDIF output
- AC3Config app does not crash, but reports an error when filter is uninstalled.
- ‘Force reinit’ option now works only in SPDIF mode (no need to disable it for PCM mode)
