Download Wireshark 1.4.1

Monday, version 1.4.1 of Wireshark was released. Wireshark is an open source protocol analyzer and packet sniffer, which can analyze various network protocols and data packets on the network. The program can also use previously saved data traffic as input. Since version 1.2.0 there are separate downloads for 64bit versions of Windows. In version 1.4.0, a 64-bit version for Mac OS X was added, but Windows 2000 is no longer supported. For those who don’t want or can’t switch yet, there will also be a new version from the 1.2 branch on Monday hatched. Support for the 1.0 branch has now been dropped. No new features have been added in version 1.4.1. However, a large number of problems have been resolved and various protocols have been updated.

• The Penetration Test Team of NCNIPC (China) discovered that the ASN.1 BER dissector was susceptible to a stack overflow. (Bug 5230)
• Wireshark may appear offscreen on multi-monitor Windows systems. (bug 553)
