Download Maxthon 3.1.7.1000

Version 3.1.7.1000 of Maxthon has been released. Maxthon once started under the name MyIE2 as a so-called wrapper for Internet Explorer. The program uses IE’s internal engine to display web pages, but has its own interface with many extras functionality, including mouse gestures and online bookmarks. In version 3.0, the Trident IE engine is still present, but the WebKit engine is used by default. This is used by Apple’s Safari and Google’s Chrome, among others. It is easy to switch between the two engines. Since version 3.1.6, the following changes and improvements have been made:

New Features:

• Supported HTML 5 feature: drag & drop to upload files in Skydrive and add attachments in Gmail.
• Added interface customization menu which supported customizing Tool Bar/Side Bar buttons and the browser’s interface.
• Added “Double Click to Close Tab” into Maxthon Options.
• Added “Enable Drag & Drop” into Maxthon Options.
• Supported importing favorites from Chrome and Firefox.
• Supported skin developers customizing drop-down list of Address Bar.
• Merged Thunder Downloader.

Improvements:

• Enhanced the logic of data syncing.
• Increased Webkit startup speed.
• Increased the startup speed and the fluency of page viewing.
• Optimized CPU usage in Ultra Mode.
• Increased the favorites menu first-time popup speed.
• Adding shortcuts with running programs was supported in External Tools.
