Asus introduces three VivoBooks with Intel Whiskey Lake processors

Asus has announced new VivoBook 14, 15 and 17 models. The mainstream laptops will be available in various configurations, including Whiskey Lake-generation Core processors and Nvidia GeForce MX GPUs.

The new Asus VivoBook 14, 15 and 17 come respectively with the type designations X412, X512 and X712 and have screen sizes of 14″, 15.6″ and 17.3″. The VivoBook 14 and 15 come in variants with resolutions of 1920×1080 and 1280×720 pixels; the 17.3 laptop comes in full-HD versions and models with 1600×900 pixels. The screen bezels are narrow, bringing the screen-to-body ratio on the VivoBook 14 to 87 percent and the 17 to 85 percent. comes true.

Asus will equip its mainstream line with various Intel processors, from the Pentium 4417 and the Core i3-7020 of the Kaby Lake U generation, to the Kaby Lake R chips i7-8550, i5-8250 and i3-8130, and the Whiskey Lake U processors i7-8565, i5-8265 and i3-8145.

As for the video card, Asus sticks to either the integrated Intel GPU of the processor, or the GeForce MX 110 or MX130 from Nvidia. The laptops get a maximum of 16GB DDR4 2400-ram, an SSD with a storage capacity of 256GB and a HDD of up to 2TB. Furthermore, USB-c is present, but only the 3.1 gen1 variant, hdmi, wifi-ac and bluetooth 4.2. The battery capacity is 37Wh with the X412 and 32Wh with the X712. The X512 can contain either battery, depending on the model. Asus releases the laptops in white, gray, blue and red. The company has not yet announced the prices.
