Xiaomi releases two Xiaomi Notebook Air laptops
Xiaomi has shown its first two laptops at an event in China. The largest Notebook Air has a 13.3″ screen and is completely made of aluminum. Contrary to previous rumors, the laptop has an Intel Core i5 and not an i7.
In addition to the Intel Core i5 dual-core with a maximum clock speed of 2.7GHz, the 13.3″ laptop has a full-HD screen and the Mi Notebook Air uses an Nvidia GeForce 940MX for the graphics. The laptop is further equipped with 8GB DDR4 RAM and a PCI-e NVME SSD of 256GB. It is also possible to place an extra SSD yourself. The Note Air 13.3″ measures 309.6×210.9×14.8mm, weighs 1.28kg and runs on Windows 10. According to Xiaomi, the 40Wh battery is good for a battery life of up to 9.5 hours.
The laptop has an HDMI port, two USB 3.0 interfaces and a USB-c port that also serves for charging and is also suitable for fast charging with the included type-c charger. According to Xiaomi, the laptop charges from 0 to 50 percent in half an hour. In addition, the laptop has an audio connection. A network port is missing, but wifi-ac is present.
Mi Notebook Air 13.3″
The smaller Note Air has a 1080p screen of 12.5 “and is only 12.9 mm thick. This version gets a more economical but less powerful Intel Core m3. Xiaomi ships 4GB lpddr3 internal memory and there is a 128GB ssd with the possibility to expand the storage with another SSD.This variant has a battery of 37Wh that should last 11.5 hours.
Both laptops come without visible logos, and Mi Band owners can automatically log in to their wearable, just like Apple Watch users can on a macOS Sierra system. The 13.3 “laptop costs 4999 Chinese yuan, converted 680 euros. For the 12.5” variant, 3499 yuan must be paid, or about 477 euros. The laptops will be available in the Xiaomi store from August 2, although nothing has been announced about international availability yet.
