Windows 11 update 22H2 available as ‘preview build’

The next version of Windows 11 is available as a preview build. Microsoft is expected to roll out the new version of its operating system to all users at the end of this summer.

Microsoft announces that anyone in the Preview Channel can download the new update. It concerns Windows 11 22H2 build 22621 which was already available for the Beta Channel. It is not yet known when the update will be available to all users, but the official release is expected in September.

In the update, Windows 11 gets a number of new features. The start menu gets folders for apps and users can again use drag and drop on the taskbar. Furthermore, task manager gets a new design and a dark mode. Microsoft also adds live captioning as an accessibility feature with this update.

To access the Preview Channel and the Preview Builds, Windows users must sign sign up† They get access to new versions of the operating system earlier.
