Capcom and Oculus have announced a VR version of Resident Evil 4. The game will be available exclusively on the Quest 2 and not on other platforms or the first version of the Quest headset. A release date has not yet been announced.

The VR version of Resident Evil 4 is getting a first-person perspective. The original, which first appeared on Nintendo GameCube in 2005, has a third-person perspective. Capcom is working with Oculus Studios and Armature Studios on the VR version. The latter studio is responsible for porting the game to the Oculus Quest 2.

Resident Evil 4 is the first game to be released exclusively for the Quest 2. There are already several Oculus Quest exclusives, but until now they also worked on the first version of the standalone headset. By making the game only for the new model, the developers don’t have to take into account the lower processing power of the older version.

Capcom showed the first images of Resident Evil 4 VR during its Resident Evil Showcase livestream. Some gameplay footage is included with the announcement, but the creators are referring to the Oculus Gaming Showcase on April 21 for more information and more gameplay. The price and release date of the game have not yet been announced.
