Valve will show its SteamVR virtual reality goggles at the Game Developers Conference next week. The final design of the Steam controller should also be presented during the event.

On its website, Valve has posted a teaser that mentions an “as yet unannounced” SteamVR goggles. However, the glasses are not entirely new; Valve showed a prototype of VR glasses with that name a year ago. The Oculus Rift served as the basis for this. However, Oculus VR, the company behind the Rift, has since been acquired by Facebook and Valve may have designed a new model in the meantime.

In addition, at the Game Developers Conference, Valve will show the final version of the Steam controller, as well as “new devices for the living room.” It is unclear whether Valve is referring to possible successors to the previously announced Steam Machines with this latest announcement, a project that Valve has not heard about for a long time. Valve’s Game Developers Conference will be held in San Francisco from March 2-6.
