This Dreame robot vacuum cleaner can climb stairs
Robot vacuum cleaners are all well and good , but if you have stairs in your house, you’re still forced to carry the vacuum cleaner up and down several floors – if you’re even home, of course. Consumer electronics company Dreame Technology has come up with a solution for that: the Dreame Cyber X can walk up stairs.
A fully autonomous robot vacuum cleaner
At the IFA 2025 trade fair this week, all sorts of tech companies are unveiling their latest gadgets. Dreame is one of them, and they particularly impressed with the Dreame Cyber X, a robot vacuum cleaner with so-called bionic QuadTrack technology. Simply put, this is a fully autonomous robot vacuum cleaner, in the literal sense: you don’t have to move it between floors of your home or office. It can do it all by itself!
The Cyber X uses the QuadTrack system to do this, which essentially functions as a compact elevator between different floors. The vacuum cleaner connects to and disconnects from the QuadTrack system itself, allowing it to clean all floors of a house or office building without human intervention. This means you no longer have to worry about moving the vacuum cleaner yourself.
The Dreame Cyber X can climb stairs of up to 25 centimeters at a speed of 0.2 m/s. With a 3DAdapt vision with laser and AI-powered camera, it finds its way automatically. You also don’t have to worry about it having an accident, because the rubber treadmills provide extra grip. The vacuum cleaner and the QuadTrack system are also equipped with a 6,400 mAh battery, which provides enough energy to clean five floors on a single charge.
Unfortunately, there are no details yet about a possible price or release date for the Dreame Cyber X. For now, it is just a concept – the IFA trade show is the ideal place to celebrate this kind of technological advancement. So we’ll have to wait a little longer before a robot can vacuum our entire house completely automatically, but we can’t wait to live in that future.
Even more innovation in the household
The Cyber X was certainly not the only innovation Dreame presented at IFA. The Cyber10 Ultra also caught the eye, another robot vacuum cleaner, but this time with an arm that mimics human movements. This allows it to use all kinds of cleaning tools and brushes. The arm has a reach of 40 centimeters, allowing it to clean narrow and hard-to-reach crevices with the greatest of ease.
Dreame is also introducing several robot mops in its Aqua series that require little to no user guidance. For example, the Aqua10 Ultra Track Complete uses a constant 45°C water supply and dispenses its own cleaning solution, while the Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete disposes of dirty water separately while keeping the roller clean during cleaning. Both automatic mops will be available starting September 22nd for €1,499 each.
Not a moment too soon
Sean Chen, managing director at Dreame, sees the company’s mission crystal clear: “We listen to our users’ needs and translate their challenges into solutions that work effortlessly. We’re excited to showcase these new technologies at IFA and hope they truly help our users and give them more time for what really matters. Whether it’s climbing stairs, tackling tangled hair, or maintaining a multi-zone lawn, Dreame’s innovations make everyday life easier, cleaner, and smarter.”
With innovations like this, spending countless hours each week on housework seems like a thing of the past. Just looking at that old-fashioned mop ready for a thorough cleanup, that future wouldn’t come a moment too soon!
