Microsoft’s Surface Duo phone would get a Snapdragon 855 processor, and a sensor that can take photos on both the front and the back. The phone’s dual screens are amoled with a pixel density of 401ppi, according to Windows Central sources.

The specifications of the dual phone have not yet been officially announced by Microsoft. Sources do say to Windows Central that the phone is currently being tested internally among employees, one of the last steps before the device is officially released. Windows Central has managed to get hold of most of the specifications of the device through the sources.

According to those sources, the Surface Duo will have a Snapdragon 855 processor. Microsoft would not use the newer 865, because a 5g chip from manufacturer Qualcomm would have to be implemented with it. Since Microsoft had already designed the phone before that requirement was made, the company decided to use the older chip instead of redesigning the entire phone.

The phone also gets 6GB of RAM, and comes with 64GB or 256GB of storage. According to the sources, the device has a battery of 3460mAh, and fast charging via USB-C. It is not known how fast it goes and with which standard. It is striking that according to Windows Central, the phone not only has no 5G, but also no NFC support.

The Surface Duo is named for its dual screen. The sources now say more about which screens are used. They are amoled screens with a resolution of 1800 x 1350, with a pixel density of 401ppi. Both screens are 5.6 inches in size and have a 4:3 ratio. According to Microsoft, the displays can be described with the Surface Pen.

It is striking that the phone only has one camera lens. It is located at the top of the right display and can take photos on both the front and back. Many details are not known about that lens, except that it has 11 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.0.
