‘Surface Book 2 is almost impossible to repair yourself’

The score of 1 for the Surface Book 2 is slightly better than that of the Surface Laptop, which received a 0 on repairability, but that’s about it according to iFixit. The Surface Book 2’s screen is so glued to the tablet underneath that it takes a lot of heat and prying to get it loose.

According to iFixit, it is a big challenge to remove the bottom plate without deforming it. Microsoft announced the Surface Book 2 in October. In addition to the 13.5″ variant, there will also be a 15″ model. It is not yet known whether the repairability of that version has improved.
