Smach Zero, the Steam handheld previously known as the Steamboy Project, is set to be released in the fourth quarter of 2016 for $299. The yet-to-be-demonstrated handheld runs SteamOS and has a built-in controller that closely resembles Valve’s own Steam Controller.

The makers of the Smach Zero took advantage of GamesCom 2015 to announce that the handheld will go on sale November 10 for $299. The device is equipped with a Steppe Eagle soc from amd, which is equipped with a Jaguar CPU, supplemented with Radeon graphics with gcn architecture. The handheld has 4GB of RAM and the storage memory is 32GB. The display is a 5″ 720p touchscreen and the handheld has an HDMI output, supports WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G and USB on-the-go. The makers claim that the handheld can play more than 1000 games with such a configuration.

Other than some older footage, nothing is known about the Smach Zero or the company behind it. Demonstrations have not yet been given. Perhaps more will become clear when the handheld goes on presale on November 10.
