Sony is counting on the fact that more than twenty games for the virtual reality headset will be ready when the PlayStation VR2 is launched. This includes the previously announced Horizon spin-off Horizon Call of the Mountain.

The more than 20 “big games” ready to go on sale for the PlayStation VR2 will come from Sony’s own studios and from third parties, the company reported to investors. In the accompanying slide of the presentation An illustration of Horizon Call of the Mountain is visible, indicating that this game must be ready by then.

It is not yet known when the PlayStation VR2 should be released. Sony announced in February last year that it was working on the successor to its first PlayStation headset for VR. Earlier this year, the Japanese company revealed more details such as the name, design and functionality. In January of this year, it was also announced that Guerrilla Games and Firesprite are working on the first-person VR game Horizon Call of the Mountain. Little else is known about this game.

The PlayStation VR2 is designed for a combination with the PS5 and the OLED screen of the headset has HDR, a resolution of 2000×2040 pixels per eye and a field of view of 110 degrees. The headset also gets inside out tracking. The first PlayStation VR from 2016 offers a 100-degree field of view and 960×1080 pixels per eye.
