Software Update: Wine 1.8 RC 2

Spread the love

A new development build of Wine has been released. Wine is an open source implementation of the Windows API and allows you to run DOS and Windows programs on Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris. A large group of developers contribute to Wine and it has been decided to release a new so-called development version every two weeks instead of waiting for a number of new functions to be ready. A stable edition is published once or twice a year. At the moment, such a stable release is being worked on, which means that no new features will be added, only troubleshooting will be done.
