Software Update: Winamp 5.111

A new version of Winamp was released yesterday via the Winamp forum, namely version 5.111. Winamp can handle the most common audio and video formats and can be downloaded in different variants. The Lite version only plays music files, while the Full version also plays video files, web radio broadcasts (SHOUTcast) can be listened to and CDs can also be ripped to a limited extent. Finally, the Pro version can also encrypt files and burn CDs. However, you have to pay for these features. In this version a number of bugs have been fixed, so this version works again in older versions of Windows. The full changelog looks like this:

  • works with internet explorer 3.0 again (old win95/nt3.51)
  • Auto-Preset EQ crash (non-mp3 files)
  • $upper, $caps, $caps2 crash with foreign characters
  • Station Info crash (with http filtering program)
  • empty playlist bugs
  • [in_mp3] proxy ignored when ‘only port 80’ was checked
  • [in_midi] lyrics not working
