Software Update: Winamp 5.1 beta 3

The Nullsoft website accidentally posted an early beta version of Winamp 5.1 for a short time. The downloads have since been removed, but a number of early birds from Kool Lite Tools managed to get hold of them and now have one mirror set up. The most striking thing about this version is the suffix ‘Surround Edition’ and that immediately reveals the most important new feature. In the Nulsoft forum not happy with this version leaking and warning of instability, especially on machines that don’t run Windows XP. In any case, the changelog of this release looks like this:
