Spread the love

The VoIP program VoIPerized has been updated to version 2.2 a few days ago. This program allows conversations with other computer users who use this software. It uses the open-source Speex audio codec, which means that the sound quality is higher than a regular phone call. Furthermore, the latency and processor usage are very low, and the bitrate can be adjusted as desired. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:

Changes in version 2.2:

  • Fixed bug that caused incorrect IP-address detection when having multiple ethernet cards.
  • Added link to manual page in Help menu.
  • Added Push to Talk button mode.
  • Added Push to Talk using key combination.
  • Added support for multiple languages by means of extra language files (contact me if you want to translate VoIPerized).
  • Added configuration wizard.
  • Display name is set to username used in windows when you for the first time start VoIPerized.
  • The latency has been further reduced and is now approximately 120ms + Ping time.
  • Included a better echo canceller based on the NLMS-pw algorithm (still needs tuning, so big chance that it will make the echo worse).
  • Fixed bug that caused that your contact list didn’t show that someone went offline.
