Spread the love

Crofts Software has updated CS Fire Monitor to version 2.0.0. This program is able to monitor a number of things on your computer, including data traffic, processor usage, hardware and IP addressing. All this data is then stored in different log files for later analysis. It is also possible to display the collected information in a screensaver. Among the innovations we find, among other things, a greatly reduced memory usage and the possibility to view the measured values from a distance. The full changelog for this release looks like this:

Changes to v.2.0.0

  • Cut down on the programs memory usage by over 50%
  • Program can now be remotely viewed. User options will be under setting “Remote”. A Remote Viewer tool is installed with CS Fire Monitor.
  • Added new quick tool, “Clean System Memory” The program can now clean all system memory of any leaks and unneeded memory in an instant. This new feature is in both the remote viewer and under the tray icon in quick tools.
  • Increased performance when updating reports and large lists, by making the lists and reports invisible while updating windows no longer needs to draw the list, thus increasing the speed by 10x. Once the report or list is done it is made visible again.
  • Memory monitor now tries to detect what banks the memory is installed in along with the size. Thus Bank0/1 is the 1st memory slot and Bank2/3 would be the 2nd memory slot and so forth.
  • Fixed new setup did not apply default settings for new installs.
  • Program no longer auto compacts and repairs the database. This gives issues on program shutdown when ran as a service. You can now manually run the compact and repair option from a new shortcut in the start menu.
  • Fixed bug where you couldn’t change the color for the drive monitor in the graph.
  • Added new mini monitor to show current real time clock speed of the CPU, due to a lot of new motherboards like ASUS that have a cool & quiet feature which slows the clock speed and also how laptops adjust speed and do to user request this mini monitor will show the current clock speed in real time.
  • Bandwidth mini monitor tool tip text now shows current totals
  • Fixed minor shutdown issue when closing the program.
  • Added more startup options, now when ran as a service you can have it set to always make sure cs fire monitor is running.
  • Updated screen saver to also show hard drive stats. Also screen saver now moves every 10 sec. instead of 5 for easier reading.
  • Bandwidth report can now list by day, month or year. This is a good way to check monthly and yearly totals for each connection.
