VLC Media Player is an open source and cross platform media player that can play various audio, video and streaming formats without having to install the appropriate codec. Version 0.9.6 has been available for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows for a few days now, which closes two security vulnerabilities and from now on Ukrainian can also be chosen as the language. The VideoLAN team is pleased to announce the release of VLC media player 0.9.6. This is a bug fix release. VLC media player 0.9.6 and earlier versions suffer from a security vulnerability in CUE and Realtext subtitle demuxer. Further technical details are available in our advisory. We recommend all users upgrade to this new version.
