Software Update: Tor Browser 8.0.5

Spread the love

Version 8.0.5 of Tor Browser has been released. Tor stands for The Onion Router and is a network that can be used to surf the Internet fairly anonymously. All users’ tcp traffic is routed through various Tor routers, after which it is virtually impossible for the receiver to trace who the original sender was. This information is still present within the Tor network, so that answers, of course also via the system of routers, eventually arrive at the right place. The release notes for this release are as follows:

New Release Tor Browser 8.0.5

This new release updates Firefox to 60.5.0esr and Tor to the first stable release in the 0.3.5 series, 0.3.5.7. It contains a number of backports from the alpha series, most notably the proper first-party isolation of range requests when loading PDF documents.

We also updated NoScript and HTTPS Everywhere to their latest versions and removed our donation campaign related code.
