Download SmokePing 2.3.1
To monitor the presence of various components in the network, you can use the simple ping command. However, with this you can only view the current status and the output is text based. An application that keeps a history of availability and can then display it graphically is Smokeping. This application requires a web server with Perl, Rrdtool and a number of other components. This allows an overview to be set up as on this page can be viewed. The developers have released version 2.3.1 with the following announcement:
Users!
I have released smokeping 2.3.1. This is a minor update with the following changes:
- Do not send alerts for hosts not being polled due to the ‘nomasterpoll’ property being set.
- Fixed div structure in hierarchy and filter form.
