The final release of version 2.6 of PeaZip was released on Monday. PeaZip is an open source licensed archiving program that seeks to differentiate itself from the competition by specializing in security. Encrypting data is therefore the spearhead of our own pea format. The program can create 7z, bz2, gz, paq/lpaq, pea, quad, tar, upx and zip files and extract various file formats including ace, arj, cab, deb, iso, lha , rar and rpm. Here’s what’s changed in this release:

Changes in version 2.6 final:

  • 85 file extensions supported
  • new themes
    • new icon for .lnk (Windows links)
    • (Linux) fixed nontransparent icons
  • fixed:
    • “extract all” and “ext all to” buttons for some formats
    • drag and drop extraction for pea format
    • cp_open fixed for Windows 9x systems
    • it is possible to add computer’s root to bookmarks
    • fixed sorting bookmarks grids and menus
    • various minor fixes and updates
  • ONION
    • (Windows) it is now possible to drag items from system to bookmarks, dragging on bookmarks or history area
    • it is now possible to add currently browsed path to bookmarks
    • bookmarks menus and grid now have icons
    • history menus (recent) and grid now have icons
  • built with Lazarus 0.9.26.2
  • (Linux) data previously installed in /usr is now installed in /usr/local
  • All translations updated
