Download NewsLeecher 2.0 RC3

A new release candidate has appeared on the NewsLeecher site of the program of the same name that can be used to post and download messages and binaries on Usenet. The version number has since been increased to 2.0 RC3. For those familiar with this piece of software, it will be good news that the problem with the Super Search function by using a different port is now almost solved. The changelog for this version looks like this:

NewsLeecher 2.0 RC3:

• Added a new ‘License Key Tools’ sub-menu to the help menu. The menu contains various key manipulation tools. (More tools will be added in the future)
• Added ‘Add user to Poster-Kill list’ feature to the active group menu
• Added option to auto-connect when an NZB file has been auto-imported using the Scan-For-NZB-Files feature
• Re-enabled F11 for showing/hiding the connection window
• Super Search is now using a new port for NewsLeecher connections. The port change was made to make Super Search work through a larger number of firewalls
• Other small improvements to the Super Search engine
• Fixed bug where long filters (999+ characters in length) were truncated when restarting NewsLeecher
• Fixed lots of small bugs. (Graphical presentation of the ‘preview’ and ‘grouping’ buttons, etc).
