Software update: NewsBin Pro 6.20 build 1500 RC2

The second release candidate of NewsBin Pro version 6.20 has been released. NewsBin Pro is intended to retrieve files such as photos, movies and programs from usenet. These files can be downloaded in individual packets from one or more news servers and reassembled at the receiving end. Since version 6.00, the interface uses tabs and there is a cache-to-memory option that, if a machine has plenty of memory, reduces constant access to the hard drive. New in version 6.20 include a spam filter and the ability to set network throughput rates per hour and per day. Furthermore, proxy support has been improved, memory consumption has been reduced and the reliability of downloading and processing rar files has been improved. The following changes have been made in this release:

Changes in version 6.20 build 1500 RC2:

• Fixed the bug in ID3 mode introduced in last build
• Add range limiting when retrieving search results.
• Fixed issue where Fill server sometimes returned empty chunk data
• Changed AutoPAR to rename duplicate files during unrar and leave them in the destination folder.
• Now checks all files in RAR archive for encryption regardless of extension. Spammers are embedding RARS named something else now.
• Made local search and post lists work with accented characters
• Now supports new file counts from the search server (will start showing counts when new search server code is promoted to production)
