Download NewsBin Pro 6.00 build 892 beta 8

DJI Interprises has released beta 8 of NewsBin Pro version 6.00. This program is intended to retrieve files such as photos, movies and programs from usenet. These files can be downloaded in individual packets from one or more news servers and reassembled at the receiving end. In version 6.0, among other things, the user interface has been overhauled and now uses tabs. There is also a Cache to Memory option which, when a machine has ample memory, reduces constant access to the hard drive. However, on machines with fewer resources, this can be turned off better. Version 6.00 is now as good as feature complete and we are now working on eliminating the imperfections. The beta 8 changelog looks like this:

• Hopefully fixed a crash but people were reporting when interacting with the Download list.
• Header downloads now trigger real time update of any incomplete files in the Download list.
• Hooked up “Use Chunks Folder” under Options/Advanced
• Fixed problem deleting a large number of posts from a post list (using shift/delete).
• Fixed problem with accented characters in the unrar path
• Add Filters dialog has been re-arranged. Filters can be edited now instead of having to delete and re-enter them.

• Added SRR files to the “Early UnRAR” filter.
• When restarting and re-checking the files in the download list, if the file is already in the good list and it’s the same size as the one on disk, AutoPAR won’t re-scan it anymore.

Upgrade NOTE:

Version 6 has a new storage format for headers. You have to manually invoke the conversion if you want to bring your 5.5x headers into V6. A new spool folder, SPOOL_V6 will be created for storing headers. To invoke the conversion, select a group or a bunch of groups in the Groups tab, right-click and select Post Storage, then choose “Import Version 5.XX Headers”. A progress screen will pop up and you’ll have to wait for it to finish before continuing.
