Spread the love

The program myHTPC, which stands for My Home Theater Personal Computer, has arrived at version R24 alpha. With this you can transform your personal computer into a full music, film and television system. In addition, you can adjust the menu structure entirely to your own wishes. The system is also suitable for setting up a clear and easy menu structure which can be used as a public computer. The release notes let us know the following:

I’ve been feeling guilty about the weather module not functioning and discovered yesterday that The Weather Channel (weather.com) offers a free XML weather feed.

So, this release no longer uses InterceptVector.com and uses TWC instead.

In order for it to work properly, you must run the configure application and go into each weather module to reset the location. Simply type the location name you want (or a zip code if in the USA), hit the Search button and select one of the resulting locations.

This version uses weather icons provided by TWC and has full support for metric units.

Note that there have been no improvements to the display of the weather module; it still looks poor at anything less than 800×600.
