Less than a week after the first release candidate of Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0 was released, Mozilla’s developers have just uploaded the industry’s final version 1.0 to their FTP server. Mozilla Thunderdbird is the standalone version of the mail and news software included with Mozilla Suite. The mail program is an open source and cross platform mail and newsgroup client with features such as a junk mail filter, spell check and the possibility to further extend the functionality via extensions. The Mozilla Foundation today released the Thunderbird 1.0 email client. Thunderbird includes an array of new features such as saved search folders, message grouping, comprehensive mail migration from other mail clients, and builtin RSS integration.
