The first Service Pack for Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2005 has recently been released available. Its predecessor, Visual Studio .NET 2003, received its first service pack less than five months ago. On Microsoft’s support pages, both the release notes as the list of bug fixes to find. blub2 made us aware of the importance of having enough space on the disk when installing the Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack. With 3.5 GB free, the installation failed completely; according to the release notes, a minimum of 6.2GB of free space is required. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 SP1 comes in a number of different flavors, of which this one version includes the updates for both the Standard, Professional, and Team editions of Visual Studio 2005. Also there is one beta version for Windows Vista. The final product is expected in the first quarter of 2007.
